Deceitful Remarks by President Tran Dai Quang

We are disturbed (yet not surprised) by Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang's blatant lies to the world about Vietnam's commitment to "peace, stability, cooperation, and development." Moreso, we are offended that President Tran Dai Quang is standing in front of the American flag as if Vietnam honors American ideals such as freedom, liberty, and democracy. If Vietnam is so committed to peace, stability, cooperation, and development, then why does Vietnam murder, imprison, and persecute Dega people who ask for peace, stability, cooperation, and development? Why are Dega communities heavily monitored and our people harassed? Why does Vietnam deny the United Nations and international community access to the majority of Dega communities? We know the answer. Vietnam does not wish to do any of the following. It is just "sweet talk". The Vietnamese government's evil crimes against humanity did not end with the war -- it continued. Millions of people are silently suffering and dying under their authoritarian rule. We pray that the world sees past the Vietnamese government's deception. We pray that the Dega people find justice.
